Discipline
Three warning letters will be issued for acts of minor indiscipline.
Frequent rule breaking or acts of serious indiscipline will result in suspension from one to seven days.
In rare cases, when it is felt that the student does not respond to correction and is having an adverse effect on the other students, he/ she will be expelled from school.
 
  School timings
School starts at 8:10 a.m. and closes at 1:30 p.m. ( Sunday to Thursday)
The entrance gates will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. to discourage late comers. The gates will again be closed from 1:10 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. to discourage parents from intruding into classrooms. Students who come late have to wait in the reception till the first period ends. ( 9:00 a.m.)
The school gate will open from 7:30 a.m. and will be closed at 2:00 p.m. The school is not responsible for any mishap before 7:30 a.m. and after 2:00 p.m. Parents are requested to drop their wards and pick them up accordingly. The school nurse and other assistance will be available only upto 2:00 p.m. and therefore parents are requested to pick up their children before that, so that they are not left unattended. The school gates will close at 2:00 p.m.
Male guardians are only allowed till the 2nd gate at all times. They will be allowed in the school only on Parent Teacher days.
Male guardians are requested not to insist on entering the school premises, as this will result in an unwelcome scene.
K.G. 1 & K.G. 2 students may come 15 minutes late and go home 15 minutes earlier with their guardians, from the KG gate. The guardian must have an Emirates Id / Driving license.
The KG section gate is open, for the use of only the Primary Block students upto 8:45 a.m.
Students from class 3 onwards are not allowed to use the gate after 8:30 a.m.
   
  Attendance
Students must attend 80% of the classes held in each year, failing which they must repeat the class.
Students absenting themselves for a valid reason must bring a leave letter signed by the guardian on the day after their absence.
A student may absent himself / herself from one term examination on serious medical grounds, but must furnish a government medical report.
In all cases of absence the school reserves the right to accept the leave application.
If a student is late to school, he / she must bring a letter signed by the father.
As per MOE Rules the name of any student absenting himself from school for more than 30 days will be removed from the School Roll.
   
  School Fees
The office accepts fees on all working days from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
However, on term report card day the office does not accept any fees; neither is fees accepted one day before the report card day.
Parents who have not paid the fees may obtain the report card after making full payment on the next working day.
Parents who wish to send the fees through their children should send a crossed cheque in a sealed envelope, with the name & the class of the child and the amount of the cheque written on the envelope, to be handed over to the class teacher in the first period. Please insist on a receipt. Please do not send cash through students from KG 1 to Class 8.
Names of Students who have not cleared the previous years fees will be deleted in the next academic year.
  Fee Payment
All fees to be paid in advance before the 10th of each month.
Fees once paid are not refundable.
If fees are not paid on time the student may be removed from the school roll after due warning.
Those who pay their tuition fee yearly will have to pay the bus fee in the same mode.
Fee for the whole academic session are payable irrespective of the time of joining.
Parents are requested to send exact amount of fees as children often lose the balance.
Young children should not be entrusted with the payment of fees.
All cheques must be drawn in favor of “Ibn Seena English high School,, Sharjah” in favor of account payee’s only. Bounced cheques will be reported to the authorities and an additional dhs.50/- will be charged as bank charges.
Fees can be paid between 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 noons on weekdays. (Sunday to Thursday)
Students will have to pay the fee up to the month; his / her names had been carried on school roll.
A school leaving certificate may be obtained during the academic year by filling out an application form 21 days in advance.
Students are advised to hand over the payment to the class teacher in the first period
Part of the month / term, is counted as full.
Two months tuition fees to be paid at the time of admission, which will be adjusted in future payments.
There are no discounts on tuition fees / bus fees
No fee will be accepted on the day of the Report Card and a day prior.
The only proof of payments is the receipts. Please keep it securely.
   
  Transport
Bus users must be in the bus by 1:25 p.m. sharp. No student is allowed to enter after that. Similarly, the bus user must be at the bus stop at the time given by the driver.
Misbehavior in the bus distracts the driver and therefore students who misbehave or disobey the conductor will be disallowed the use of the bus.
Parents are requested to pay their wards bus fee between 1st to the 15th of every month, on all working days, between 8:30 and 12 noon, or send with the conductor in the following manner
a.
Enclose the exact cash or cheque stapled to the envelope.
b. Write the student’s name, class, enrolment number  and section on the envelope. Insist on a receipt.
   
 
Parent teacher meeting
Held on the last Thursday of each month between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m,. unless informed otherwise.
Parents who wish to contact teachers on other days may communicate through the pupil’s diary.
In an emergency, the school office may be approached for an appointment with a teacher. Parents are dissuaded from going to class rooms except during parent teacher meetings.
   
  Sundry
No student is allowed to drop a subject at the O’ Levels
Students who fail twice in the same class will be removed from the school roll.
The school office will remain closed for the summer and winter vacations.
All holidays declared by the ministry will be observed by the school.
Any damage to school property will not only render the student liable to make good the loss but can also result in expulsion.
All school fee must be paid in advance. Students who have not cleared the fees for 2 months will be
struck off the roll.
School leaving certificate may be obtained by applying for it 15 days in advance and clearing all dues. The end of year schedule differs.
School leaving certificates for O’ & A’ Level’s students must be applied in June and will be given in the fourth week of September, after the Ministry accepts the Edexcel Results.
Students are given retests at the end of the year on the basis of Ministry of Education approved rules. A minimum of 35% marks are needed for a retest. Retests can only be given in two subjects.
Minimum passing marks are : Islamic and Arabic 50%; All other subjects 45%
   
  Mobile Phones
Mobile phones ARE NOT ALLOWED in school. In special cases, parents may request that their wards be allowed a mobile phone. Then, if permitted, students may carry a phone WITHOUT A CAMERA. In case the phone rings in class, it will be confiscated.
Any unauthorized phone will be confiscated and NOT RETURNED
 

Diary
Parents should fill the information page in the diary and check the diary every day. They may communicate with the school through the diary. Any change in phone numbers should be notified in the diary. Please read the rules and regulations given in the diary. However, this notice over – rides the diary in case of a conflict.
   
 
Selection of Subjects for O'levels
 
Students have to choose their subjects for O Level according to the list given below, after Class 8.
However subjects will be allotted according to merit and subject to availability.

The aggregate marks in Maths and Science will be taken for the merit list in Group A, Admission will be strictly on merit.
 

Eligibility for Group A ( Science )
1. Must have passed the final exams
2. Retest in any subject disqualifies a student from Group A.
 

A Level Admission
Admission for A Level course is open only to the students scoring A or B grades in O Level examination for the subject he / she opts for in A Levels
.
